This book is a great addition to the growing literature on secular applications of mindfulness.... I bought the e-book first, because of the price, but it was so good I had to have the hard copy to highlight and hold in my hand!

It's a bit different than the usual study tips book, because of the focus on mindfulness, as well as on some of the psychological blocks that get in the way of success... most interesting to me was the discussion on how the self gets in the way of success... that the anxiety over how we will appear to others, or around failing, can greatly impede our enjoyment in learning or in any activity that we undertake.

Great read... pick this one up!

Ugh. Had to have for a class. Most boring book ever and I love to read.
i didn't find this very helpful and the writing style was very curt. if you've NEVER heard of these kinds of techniques, then you may like it. but it didn't help me that much. i am "advanced" and have read a lot of ed books and memory books, concentration books, etc.

wonderful resource.
This book is brilliant and written in such a way that even high school students applying for further education can absorb. I love this book. I am a high school social worker with a large population of students that struggle with distraction. This a wonderful tool that I hope to introduce to our guidance staff who in turn I'm sure will want to recommend to students planning on attending a secondary education. It is a must read for parents, high school teacher's , Guidance counselors. and all support staff that work with high school students.
Great condition and content.
I found this book most helpful in my study process. The content is very nicely chosen and adapted to the needs of a student (comparing some mindfulness manuals). It is short and simple written, so you can easily gaze threw. It doesn't have the burden effect, something adding to your to-do list to fix your habits or yourself, which later on consumes energy, but it compliments easily with the study process. What I really liked about this book is that not one of those zillion and one book with useless organisational technique, but the book who goes to the roots of your doing, in this case studying. When the things get tough, you have this book to remind you how to get your grip and back on track. This book is not a quick fix (or maybe), it takes some time to get familiar with mindfulness, specially if you never meditated before.
